Victor Dahdaleh who has funded Mesobank UK through a donation to Asthma and Lung UK, has recently donated £16 million to the University of Cambridge Heart and Lung Research Institute. The new building in which the Mesobank UK team is based, will now be called the Victor Philip Dahdaleh Heart and Lung Research Institute (HLRI). Opening in July 2022 it is home to the largest concentration of scientists and clinicians in heart and lung medicine in Europe. The HLRI is located on Cambridge’s rapidly expanding Biomedical Campus, immediately adjacent to Royal Papworth Hospital. The institute brings together population health, laboratory and clinical scientists, with NHS clinicians and patients, with the aim of improving outcomes for people with cardiovascular and lung diseases.
